finally...the dawgs have pulled the much needed victory over northern iowa last saturday eventhough for the first few minutes of the game i was ready to turn off the tv..since it looked like 'same shit different day' kinda of thing..hehe..they came out flat for the first few minutes. but then the momentum came when jamal tatum hit his first three and got fouled!!...shaw was spectacular too..just like he did against creighton, i guess he just decided to ponder this sonsabiatches when he stepped on the court. Go Shaw!! Go Dawgs!!!....

That win seeded us as the #3 in the conference..but then creighton loss to sms a few hours later moved us up to the #2, sebenernya sama sih recordnya sama creighton dan sms but by virtue of the tiebraker system kita jadi nomer 2 deh since we sweept them during the season!!..

anyway, for the last 4 years, we entered the tournament as the #1 seed but we never had the luck to win it all..so maybe this year will change it all..amiiiiin. can't wait till friday!!

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Tony Young banked home an eight-foot jumper with seven seconds left to lift Southern Illinois to a 46-45 win over #25 Northern Iowa Saturday.

Ben Jacobson had a chance to win the game for the Panthers at the buzzer, but his off-balanced 3-pointer from the left corner was well short.

The Salukis (19-10, 12-6) desperately needed a win. Not only did the victory snap a three-game losing skid for SIU, but it gave the team some momentum heading into next week's State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. Southern can finish no worse than the #3 seed, and could earn the #2 slot if Missouri State beats Creighton on Saturday night.

Matt Shaw was the offensive hero of the game for the Salukis, leading his team with 16 points.

SIU trailed early in the game, 14-2, but eventually built a 12-point lead of their own, 32-20, early in the second half.

Northern Iowa scrapped its way back into the game and took its first lead of the second half, 45-44, on a pair of free throws by Grant Stout with 13 seconds left. Stout went to the line after Jamaal Foster was whistled for an over-the-back foul off a missed shot by SIU's Bryan Mullins.

it seems that the team has regressed in the last 10 days..they peaked at creighton and then they have been going down hill afterwards. we went to carbondale last saturday to watch the bracket buster game, we expected the salukis to win of course..afterall louisiana tech is just an average team in a conference that's rated lower than ours, plus it was nationally televised and there were more than 9000 rowdy fans cheering and screaming..the elements were there to help them hyped up for the game..well the first ten minutes was exciting, everything seemed to turn our way and we were able to built a huge lead as a start, i thought it would be an easy win...but then all of a sudden we trailed by one at half time..and it continued for the rest of the game!!!..man it was a looong ride home for us..heheh!!..

Anyway ya sudah lah mau gimana lagi, i was sure the team is gonna bounce back and win the next two games. The following game was against evansville last night, the bottom feeder of the conference, the team that we beat by 30 last month!!..you think we would have an easy game, wouldn't you?..huhu think again!!..cause we were the one who walked home with our tails between our legs. Maaan this sucks!!..what has happened with the team? why is everyone looks afraid to shoot the damn ball, the offense is not working, we don't know how to break a zone defense and we foul too much huhu..is it fatigue? Maybe the short bench has finally taken a toll on them, i know they must be tired but the season is not over yet so they can't just sleepwalk throughout the game. they have the skills needed to come out with the win, it's just they haven't been playing up to their capabilities. keep on fighting dawgs, shake off the loss and WIN OUT!!!

the last game of the conference is this saturday against northern iowa, who is in the same situation like us, struggling..so it would be interesting to watch this two former powerhouses beating each other, fighting for the number 2 seed for the tournament (assuming da bears beat creighton). there's no more tickets for that game, it's sold out since last week but we have secured tickets for us...but now i don't know if i want to go or not, part of me want to cheer for my dawgs, but part of me don't think i could handle to watch every agonizing second of it if they play like they have been playing in the last 3 games..huhu.. But if i don't go on saturday I still cheer for them in front of my TV and I will wear my salukis t-shirt come tournament time on friday next week to savvis center and cheer them on to VICTORY!!!

i've been sick for two days now, pusingkepalatiadatara, kemaren udah minum advil migraine tapi nggak ngaruh sepertinya, and i have a very sore throat too..it hurts to swallow anything, even to drink!! Kayanya sih lagi musim sakit ya akhir2 ini, soalnya udaranya lagi aneh sih, panas dingin nggak jelas gitu. Minggu lalu D juga sakit pas hari senen, selasanya juga masih sakit sampe jadi pulang setengah hari, trus rabunya juga masih nggak enak..ehh hari rabu nya malah jibran yang jadi sakit. tau tau badannya anget...jadi diem aja seharian..lemess..cuma duduk aja seharian di sofa cuddling up with me while watching movies..tapi untungnya besoknya langsung sembuh sih..dan nggak ada sakit lanjutan kaya batuk pilek dll, alhamdulillah deh. I think i'll feel better tomorrow too..especially if the dawgs win tonight..;)

we didn't plan to do anything in regards to valentine's day, we've never been the ones to celebrate valentine's anyway...besides the salukis was scheduled to play against bradley and it was aired on fox. so a date in front of the tv was fixed..:D. and a win last night was all i asked!!..but too bad we sucked azz last night..i don't understand why this team could be so good one day and so bad the next day. the conference has 4 teams tied for the first position until last night, they were northern iowa, siu (salukis), creighton and wichita (also known as bitchita..:p). all of them played yesterday, northern iowa got beat by indiana state and bitchita won in overtime against creighton so that meant only bitchita and siu left in the first position and of course one would think it got the salukis fired up to play against bradley in order to keep the drive for five alive (we've been the conference leader in the last 4 years)..but turned out they played uninspired and looked so lost most of the time, our offense didn't work, only falker showed up and our defense was not as good..bradley was awesome last night, they brought their A game and they killed us up and down the court. i know bradley is a talented team and they are a badass at home, their only loss at home is to bitchita state and that is why bitchita has the sole possesion of the conference title right now...but it's not the loss that bothers me it's the azz whipping that makes me mad..=(.

so the hope for the conference title is pretty much gone, unless drake beats bitchita in the next game and we win our next 2 games then we can get at least a share of the title. crossing fingers!!

Okay, another useless Basketball related post but hey ... March Madness is just a couple weeks away and being a hardcore College Basketball fan and a Saluki Fan to be specific, I can't help not to post about it

Today was a huge rivalry game against CU at their place. I remember back in my college days when students had to wait and camp out 2 straight days before the ticket office was opened. Ticket was a luxury at that time. I ended up buying it from a scalper I met over at the ESPN.com message board. $80 for 2 student tickets that were handed out for Free. But believe me, it was money well spent.

Anyways, a Sold Out Crowd at the Qwest Center today, and the biggest crowd to ever watch Basketball game in the State of Nebraska. Fans were hyped up. Here's a funny post I found on Creighton board yesterday:

If you have ever wanted to attend a game. Do it tomorrow. If you have ever get really nasty and let it all hang out. Do it tomorrow. If you have ever thought about coming early and heckling the other team. Do it tomorrow. If you are angry, frustrated, unhappy, or just plain mean at heart and need to release somethings. Do it tomorrow. The Salukis are fat. They are crass. They are arrogant. They hate you. And they hate America.

Make sure they hear you tomorrow.

waktu hari sabtu tanggal 28 january kan ada pengajian, kita bawa kue ulang taun sama goodie bags untuk anak anak kecilnya. kita sengaja emang nggak bilang bilang/khusus ngundang biar pada dateng..soalnya ya emang nggak ada perayaan apa apa sih jadi daripada nanti malah pada ribet. nah kebetulan hari itu hujan terus seharian...jadi yang dateng juga nggak banyak..huhu. selesai acara pengajiannya (sholat maghrib + ngaji + ceramah) baru deh yang anak anak kecilnya nyanyi happy birthday trus tiup lilin dan makan kue nya..jibran seneng banget deh tiup lilin terus..hehe..mana sebelumnya kue nya udah

bolak balik di colek colekin terus lagi sama dia, abis itu dia duduk tenang sambil makan kue nya, trus bagi bagiin goodie bagsnya lho..jibran yang kasihin sendiri satu satu, isinya sih standard lah, some candies, chocolates, kool-aid dan perintilan kecil2 seperti animal figurines, pencil dan

hapusan berbentuk binatang, some madagascar stickers, gantungan kunci binatang and animal stamps (bukan perangko tapi stempel stempelan itu lho). tema nya sebenernya sih madagascar, tapi yang beneran madagascar cuma kue nya sama goodie bags dan stickernya aja (sama taplak meja nya juga sih..hehe) soalnya masih belum banyak party favors nya madagascar, jadi sisanya ya yang penting binatang binatang lah.

sekali lagi happy birthday ya jibran sayang, hopefully mommy and daddy can raise you to be a bright, healthy (physically and emotionally) and happy well-rounded kid, yang baik hati dan sayang sama semua orang dan tambah di sayang orang banyak. mudah mudahan jibran jadi anak baik baik terus ya, yang nggak aneh aneh, yang bisa membawa manfaat untuk orang orang di sekitar jibran. mudah mudahan juga jibran tumbuh jadi a true gentleman, yang sopan and well-mannered and knows how to treat girls..;), nanti kalo udah punya pacar nggak boleh kissing and telling okay?..mudah mudahan nanti kalo udah besar jibran bisa survive and succeed and i hope you don't have to get what you want at the cost of your integrity. i wish for you to be able to see the world, to dream, to explore and discover. pokonya we wish nothing but the best for jibran, amiiin...=)

seminggu kemaren ini nggak sempet posting, sebenernya sih bukan nggak sempet, tapi nggak ada hasrat buat posting..hehe..gara garanya apalagi kalo bukan mikirin basket..:P..that's all i think about day in day out. last week was not a good week for the salukis. we lost against indiana state, a team that we should've defeated easily and to make it worse, the game was in carbondale!!!..man oh man, that was the first conference lost for the last 4 years...it didn't taste good of course!!..i guess the team just kind of overlooked indiana state since they had quite a few big game coming up afterwards. We played wichita state on saturday and we lost again..uh oh..suddenly things are not looking good for the salukis..the lost itself against wichita wasn't too bad since they are a very good team and we took them to two overtimes on their homecourt. plus they were kinda cheating too..(haha..no actually it was just my speculation), soalnya suddenly the shot clock was broken so the game was postponed while the maintenance guys fixed the clock..it happened at the last 3 minutes when we had the lead and miller (their top scorer) looked tired and had a sloppy performance..so he got his much needed rest and came back and killed us..boohoooo....:p.

anyway..we had another game last night at home against the bears (missouri state university), the game was not on tv so i logged in to saluki chatrooms to get updates and stuff. it was in important game for us, we needed to win to give the players the confidence they need for the next few games and the tournament, we also need it to start another winning streak. jamal tatum didn't play last night due to flu or something so with our top scorer out it was pretty stressing to think about it!!..but surprise surprise..we played good, the scoring percentage was more than 50% and we played better offense.. had a lot of help from the bench and falker had his fourth straight double double..his last dunk was actually the winning shot since we were down by one 8 seconds left into the end. that was sweeett..nice to have this past us..we're done bear hunting and now it's bird hunting time..hehe..praying for a win on saturday against creighton..

kucing di atas itu karyanya jibran waktu masih sekolah dulu lho..emang sih bukan jibran yang gunting gambar kucingnya, kucingnya udah di sediain gurunya sekalian sama matanya, hidungnya, kumisnya..jibran tinggal nempel nempelin aja pake lem...liat aja tuh letak nya nggak bener kan..matanya miring, hidungnya juga terbalik, kumisnya juga nggak mantep masangnya, trus pita nya juga salah tempat..hehehe...tapi tetep aja dong mama nya bangga liat hasil karya anaknya..:D

sekarang sih jibran udah nggak di daycare lagi, waktu itu cuma dari awal agustus sampe akhir oktober. sayang sih sebenernya soalnya dia seneng di sana..tapi setelah di pikir pikir nggak worth it aja kayanya soalnya lumayan mahal sih daycarenya. waktu itu aja cuma seminggu tiga kali biayanya $110 seminggu..sebulan udah $440..that's quite a big chunk of money kan..waktu pertama sih memang perlu kayanya soalnya kan baru pindahan..banyak banget yang perlu di beresin yang nggak mungkin selesai kalo ada jibran, hehe...tapi lama lama toh gue nya juga nggak kerja jadi ya sayang aja lah.

sempet sih ada kepikiran untuk kerja, waktu itu udah telfon agency sana sini..but since gue maunya part time jadinya susah deh..kebanyakan part time jobnya tetep harus tiap hari, sehari 4 - 5 jam..nah kalo tiap hari gitu berarti jibran harus bayar daycare nya yang full time, biarpun cuma di taro untuk beberapa jam aja..berarti kan lebih mahal lagi..lagian emang nggak worth it juga sih kerjaannya..kalo part time gitu biasanya bukan yang career oriented dan bayarannya juga ya standard standard aja. Kalo kerja full time sih terus terang gue nggak sanggup ya kayanya..ngebayangin pulang kerja trus harus bikin makanan, beresin rumah dan ngerjain kerjaan rumah lainnya trus pagi pagi harus bangun, siapin ini itu aja gue udah exhausted duluan ..hehe..trus kapan main sama jibrannya..?..pokonya nggak mau deh, i'm not a supermom and i'm not trying to be one. Jadii..sekarang jibran back to the school of mommy, at least until i find other arrangement..=)

Dua minggu yang lalu (tanggal 10), Jibran pulang dari kids club nya Bally fitness center dengan muka penuh cakaran. di hidungnya ada satu garis panjang dari jidat sampe ke ujung hidung, di bawah mata nya ada, di bawah hidung dekat lobangnya ada juga...belum lagi di pipi kanannya sama di leher kanan bawah. Wahh lemes deh ngeliatnya..apalagi waktu lagi di bersihin dia nya meringis ringis kesakitan..soalnya baretannya lumayan dalem. Jadi ceritanya katanya yang nungguin kids club nya itu...ada anak kecil (cewe) sekitar umur 3 taun yang nyamperin jibran trus mau ngerebut mainannya...trus sama Jibran nggak di kasih, eh trusnya tu anak main cakar aja...judging dari luka lukanya sih pasti kuku nya panjang2 deh (makanya nih untuk ibu2...jangan lupa guntingin kuku anaknya yaa..:p). Pas abis di cakar gitu Jibrannya nggak nangis sih, tapi keliatan kaget...dan langsung di gendong sama yang jaga...trus si anak yang nyakar itu di kasih time out. Trus katanya sih orang tuanya udah di panggil dan di suruh sign agreement, kalo sampe anaknya berulah kaya gitu lagi bakalan di ban dari kids club nya. Kasiannya tuh pas di jemput dendre jibrannya yang udah kaya mau nangis gitu sambil nunjuk2 ke pipi nya...mungkin dari tadi pingin nangis tapi di tahan kali yaa.

Duh gue jadi sebel banget deh sama anak yang nyakar itu..gue nggak tau sih anaknya yang mana...kalo tau udah gue pites kali yaa, hehehehe...

ya enggak sih ya namanya juga anak kecil. Lagian hal2 kaya gini kan emang bound to happen deh, kecuali kalo kita nggak ngebolehin anak kita main sama temen2 sebayanya, but that's not good either. susah juga ya posisi orang tua, pinginnya pasti nge bela anaknya, tapi biar gimana pun kan harus bisa fair juga, kalo anaknya emang salah ya harus di kasih tau. Makanya waktu itu gue tanya aja ke jibran emangnya kenapa sih sampe di cakar gitu...was it because you didn't want to share the toys?..percuma juga sih sebenernya nanya karena jibran juga nggak ngerti, hehe..lagian sebenernya kalo emang jibran nggak mau share mainannya kan tetep aja bukan berarti dia boleh di cakar kan?...

Makanya, it got me thinking aja..jadi kita harus ngajarin gimana ya ke anak kalo ada kejadian kejadian kaya gitu? Di suruh diem aja, atau kasih tau guru/adults yang ada di situ, atau suruh bales? Kalo jibran kan cowo ya, jelas gue maunya dia jadi pemberani dan bisa bela dirinya..nggak mau kalo ada yang ngisengin trus cuman bisa nangis, tapi kan juga bukan berarti kalo di apa apain sedikit trus langsung maen tonjok gitu aja kan?..hehe..bingung yah..apalagi kalo sekarang kan belum bisa di kasih tau. Palingan kali nanti nanti bakalan gue kasih tau kalo ada yang kaya gitu ya langsung kasih tau aja kali ya ke guru nya..(asal jangan dikit2 ngadu sih..duuhh paling sebel sama anak kecil yang pengaduan..hehe). Kalo kaya nya yang 'nyenggol' itu nggak sengaja ya udah nggak usah di tanggepin aja, tapi kalo nggak sengaja ya kasih tau aja kalo it's not  a nice thing to do, trus kalo udah di kasih tau tapi itu anak masih nyinyir aja ya udah tonjok 'senggol' aja balik nggak pa pa kok, hehehe..tapi gue juga bakal kasih tau kalo yang kasarin jibran itu cewe yaa udah lah nggak usah di bales, sama cewe gitu loch. Anyway...untung sekarang sih baret2nya udah hilang semua berkat neosporin..
