Loving The Positive Vibe!

May 02, 2011

I don't know what it is, but I feel like there's a pouring positive energy come my way this past few days. Which is of course a good thing :). I guess that's what happen when you meet with many nice and inspiring people intensively.

I went too two full day seminars last week, first was about Marketing to Women while the other one was about Fashion Forecasting. Two very different topics but both were very similar in terms of the key note speakers and audience. Both were filled with great people, people who are passionate in their fields, people who are smart yet love to share their knowledge and still yearn to be learn more. Those are people who have bigger missions in their life and not only think for themselves.

In addition to the seminars, there was also one event hold by AIMI-ASI to celebrate their four years anniversary. I don't know much about them but it doesn't seem like they have a big team nor they are profitable, but they have gained so much in such a short time and limited resources.

They are very relentless about educating the importance of breastmilk, they have written two books and even just established a fruitful collaboration with Kemang Medical Care. They are really serious about spreading the ASI love. It was amazing to see them interact with each other and chit chatting with the audience, looking happy and glowing. I guess everyone works together when they feel good about what they're doing and know what they're doing. Oh and the talkshow was also an eye opening, it got me all teary-eyed.

Fashionese Daily also held an event yesterday, it was a workshop for the hijabers and a makeup demo from Wardah (LOVE their lipstick by the way). Turned out, we had more participants than anticipated and the event took longer than anticipated. It was a success Alhamdulillah despite we had very little room to move around because of the small space, but everyone had a great time. It was just moving to meet many people that are willing to do the extra mile, to praise their master while at the same time, still having fun with fashion & beauty stuff :).

I've been reading very good books lately. The kinds that motivate you, change your mindset and push you into doing some action. Those three books are: Battle Hymn of The Tiger Mother, 9 Summers 10 Autumns (Dari Kota Apel ke The Big Apple), and Delivering Happiness. I've bookmarked my favorite pages of those books and keep looking and reading it over and over again. In addition to books, I've read so many good articles too, mostly at Harvard Business Review, but even Bryanboy blog posts have been been empowering these days. It seems like everywhere I look there's always a spark of positivity, and I don't think I'm the only one because Manda is embracing positivity too :). Today was also a Hardiknas, so there's so many empowering tweets about education, about educating ourselves and take part in the betterment of this country.

Fashionese Daily has gone to a major change last week. We have a new design after years of the same old one. Of course it's refreshing, there's still some bugs but glad we got the major one out of the way. I'm happy to finally be able to make one of my dreams come true, it took me four years to have it just the way I want it. It's too long for such a doable task, but I won't dwell about the past. I don't care if the system I choose turn out not to be the best, the important thing is I don't live in a 'what ifs' scenario. And there's more exciting things coming! Female Daily new layout is scheduled to launch this week and it's gonna be biiiiiiggg!. We're undergoing some serious transformation here and I am beyond excited! It explains the sudden burst of positivity, we have so many exciting projects going on and we have bigger dreams to catch.

Jehan just turned three last Friday (and mommy didn't have a special post and still haven't got her the bike she wanted..hiks but at least I took off work and spent the whole day with her). Oopps scratch that, I did have a special post written right on her birthday on Mommies Daily :).

We took Jibran to his swimming classes last Saturday and amazed with his progress. He has moved on to the 2.85 M side of the poo. It makes me feel responsible to see him able to swim to the other side, able to carry himself and survive for himself. It's true, swimming is one of the life-skills that one must have. I'd love to put him to the serious swimming club once he can master all the strokes. But only if he wants it though :).

Soo that's all for now. I'm more than thankful for all this awesome things that have been thrown at me :)). Let's hope for more awesomeness and keeping our eyes on the prize!

  1. Bener banget ya mbak, "I don't care if the system I choose turn out not to be the best, the important thing is I don't life in a 'what ifs' scenario."

Menurut aku, at least we've tried. and if we don't bother to try another option, never complain the existing one.

Silent reader selama ini, salam kenal ya mbak :)

    1. Sama sama ShintaQ. I haven't read many parenting books though, mostly articles on the Internet. I think any books that inspire us will make us a better person, thus a better parent. So it doesn't always have to be specifically about parenting :)
